If there is one word that best describes Indian TV shows then it would be drama. TV soaps often employ features like slow-motion, zooms-ins, theatrical soundtracks, and even VFX effects to keep the viewers hooked. However, many times the final result turns out to be a poorly made and unconvincing scene. Now, one such scene from an old supernatural sitcom is going viral. On Tuesday, an X user shared a scene from Star Plus show Nazar which shows the antagonist of the show, an evil witch, holding a baby by her long braid and throwing it down a cliff.
The horrified parents of the toddler run towards the edge of the clip as the witch stands on top of a bus, looking proud and pleased. Instead of provoking the feeling of horror, the scene would make you go ROFL, thanks to its low-quality VFX. While sharing this clip, the X user wrote, “These TV serial’s VFX are going out of hands.”

An X user commented, “It’s baffling to see directors compromising on quality for mass appeal, The irony is, audiences still applaud! Seems like critical thinking is on vacation.”

Those who were familiar with the theatrics of TV soaps seemed less surprised. One such person remarked, “Believe me, this is not even 50%. I expected both hero and heroine to jump and save the kid. At the end, hero or heroine will die (just for 2 mins). After 2 mins, life will come.”

Another X user opined, “That’s what you get when production does not have enough budget and hires a low cost VFX team of trainees.”

Someone recalled watching Nazar and wrote, “I watched 3 seasons of Naagin and wonder why I even watched that. Tbh First Season of Naagin was fantastic that I watched without skipping any episodes but latter I skipped few episodes in season 2 and 3.”

While most people reacted to the video with humour, a few found it offensive. An X user tagged Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and the National Commission for Women in the post and wrote, “This video clip in serial of StarPlus why should not it come under cartoon category like Pogo or CN ..it is depicting to hurt children. What nonsense are these serials feeding to society? Need answers.”
