A government hospital in Molakalmuru in Karnataka’s Chitradurga district has been facing a severe power supply crisis. The hospital’s 100-bed facility has been operating under ominous conditions, forcing medical staff to use torches and candles to examine patients. Now, a video depicting the hospital’s struggle to function without proper lighting has surfaced on the internet.
As per the viral clip, a doctor can be seen treating a patient using the flashlight of a mobile phone. According to reports, the area had been affected by power cuts for the past week and the hospital was no exception. The hospital authorities have been accused of neglect as the generator remains in disrepair for nearly a week now, India Today reported.

A similar incident of power supply interruption was reported in Bhuvanagiri government hospital, Telangana on May 22 night. As per the New Indian Express report, due to power cuts for several hours here, patients were left waiting in darkness. Doctors treated patients with the help of mobile torch lights due to power cuts in the hospital.

A patient cited that there was no power supply for more than an hour and they faced several problems. It is unclear whether a generator is available or not on the hospital premises, the report elaborated. The power supply was disrupted for five hours in the MGM Hospital in Warangal on May 21. As per the report, the generators in the hospital were under repair.
