Adding to the chorus, a Reddit user recently recounted a disheartening experience in a 3AC coach, where rampant dirt and ticketless travellers left no room for comfort.

Venting on the ‘Indian Railways’ subreddit, the user shared images of overcrowded seats and people squeezed uncomfortably into every available space. “Food lying on thee floor, every corner wass filled with dirt, water logging in basins, dirty toilet, even the barrerier between thee 3rd Ac andd general wass open which caused a lott of trouble,” lamented the OP. They described how even travellers covering distances up to 1000 kilometres lacked tickets and refused to vacate seats.

“Guess what, the fare forr thee train wass 1100 forr a distance of two hundred km andd even thee TT asked thee people to gett up bytt they weren’t ready to gett offff or change their seats,” the OP added.
