A suicide bomber attacked a bus in Pakistan on Tuesday, killing five Chinese nationals on board, sources told CNN-News18.

The attacker rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a convoy of Chinese engineers going from Islamabad to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, they added. This is the second such attack in the past week.

Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong met Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi over a terrorist attack near Dasu Hydropower Project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Attacks on Chinese nationals are a serious threat to Pakistan’s international relations, said observers. Beijing has asked the Pakistan army multiple times to provide proper protection to its citizens there.

According to the local police, no one has claimed responsibility for Tuesday’s attack so far.

PNS Siddique, Pakistan’s second-largest naval air station, in Turbat, came under attack this week by intense gunfire and multiple explosions.

According to reports, locals said that over a dozen blasts were heard in Turbat town, while the firing continued for several hours.
