Ryan Wesley Routh remained silent when he was apprehended by law enforcement for apparent assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump in Florida.

A 58-year-old man, Ryan Wesley Routh, who was taken to police custody for the apparent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in Florida on Sunday, remained silent when he was apprehended by law enforcement and had previous scrapes with the law, suggested credible reports.

David Aronberg, State Attorney for Palm Beach County, Florida, said that the suspect knew enough to stay silent during a situation similar to wildfire.

Multiple shots were fired in the vicinity of Trump while he was at his golf course in Florida. The local sheriff said that a Secret Service agent had spotted an AK-47-style rifle with a scope poking out of bushes about a hole ahead of where Trump was playing, and engaged the suspect.

After the incident, law enforcement arrested the suspect and the FBI eventually deemed the case as an “assassination attempt” on the former president. The incident came nine weeks after Trump survived another attempt on his life at a rally in Pennsylvania’s Boulder.

The state accused him of committing an offence related to a ‘worthless check’ in 1998. Separately, several courts ordered him to pay tens of thousands of dollars to plaintiffs in various civil suits.
