Pakistan Polls: Imran's PTI Spreading Fake News, Nawaz Will Soon Deliver Victory Speech, PMLN Sources Tell News18

All news of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) losing the elections is a fake narrative being spread by jailed former prime minister Imran Khan’s party based on only four per cent of the results, top sources close to PMLN told CNN-News18 on Friday.

Nawaz Sharif’s party is leading in the Pakistan elections and will get the most seats, they said.

Nawaz will soon go to the PMLN headquarters in Model Town in Lahore for his victory speech, they added.

The results were delayed after the elections were marred by sporadic violence and cuts to mobile phone services.

The news about rigging in the polls is also wrong as a large number of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members have won traditional PMLN seats, the sources said.

PTI candidates ran as independents after the Supreme Court and Election Commission said they could not use the party symbol – a cricket bat.

“We are hopeful of forming the government under Nawaz Sharif,” said a PMLN member. “We have won the Punjab National Assembly and will win the National Assembly also.”
