Noida is set to witness several major developments in parallel to the establishment of the city’s first international airport.
The highly anticipated project is expected to see its final outcome by the end of 2024. Now, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has planned to set up five industrial parks adjacent to the Noida International Airport, which is being constructed in Jewar.
According to a report by Money Control, the authority will need a total of 600 acres of land to accommodate the establishments in YEIDA Sector 10.
These industrial parks will be developed along the Yamuna Expressway, which links Greater Noida with other major cities of Uttar Pradesh like Mathura and Agra.
Upon the completion of the Noida International Airport, the YEIDA wants to make the location a major industrial hotspot where big companies and manufacturing units will get to set up their wings.
According to a senior official close to the development, the projects include “an electric vehicle park, plastic processing park, footwear park, handicrafts park and a transport hub.” Speaking about the plans, the person told Money Control, “Nearly 600-acre agricultural land will be needed to develop these industrial parks in Sector 10 and the Uttar Pradesh state government has already directed the Gautam Budh Nagar administration to start the process of land acquisition.”
The official also claimed that the Uttar Pradesh government sent out a notification to the Gautam Budh Nagar administration regarding the land acquisition process on February 4 this year. The Gautam Buddha University was given the responsibility of the social impact assessment, which has already been completed.
Another official has claimed that the objections of suggestions for the proposed 600 acres of land will be sought from the general public under Section 15 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.
“As soon as we get the land, we will start its allocation for industrial parks after developing the required amenities. We are hopeful of completing the process in 2024 only,” the officer told Money Control.
According to the YEIDA official, the government has informed the public that they will need the district magistrate’s approval before buying or selling any land that has been chosen for acquisition regarding the industrial parks.
He further stated that the distribution of land compensation will start once all formalities have been fulfilled following the regulations.
