'Do You Want to Watch KGF Tonight?': LSG Take The Mickey Out of RCB With Cheeky Dig
Lucknow Super Giants recorded a comfortable win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru to move to fourth spot on the IPL 2024 points table.

Jokes were flying thick and fast after Royal Challengers Bengaluru crashed to their third defeat in four matches of the ongoing IPL 2024. RCB hosted Lucknow Super Giants at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium and ended up losing for the second time at home.

RCB top-order failed again and LSG took a dig at their star batters – Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell – on social media. The trio is now referred to as KGF (Kohli, Glenn and Faf) which clearly has been inspired from the mega-hit Kannada movie series KGF.

LSG played on the abbreviation to troll RCB.

RCB opted to bowl first and LSG posted a challenging 181/5 in 20 overs with their opener Quinton de Kock hitting 81 off 56. Together with captain KL Rahul, De Kock led a fine start for LSG with the opening pair adding 53 runs.

Nicholas Pooran provided the late fireworks with an unbeaten 40 off 21 to give them to a total which proved well beyond RCB’s reach.

The hosts did start well with Kohli and Faf adding 40 runs but once Manimaran Siddharth got rid of the former, RCB suffered a batting collapse, slipping to 58/4.

RCB had lost Kohli, Faf, Maxwell and Cameron Green inside the first eight overs of their chase with the contest all but out of their reach. Barring Mahipal Lomror, who scored 33 off 13, no other RCB batter managed to cross 29 as they were bowled out for 153 in 19.4 overs.

With the win, LSG climbed up to the fourth spot on the IPL 2024 points table while RCB continue to languish at the 9th spot with just one win out of four matches.

RCB began their season by losing to defending champions Chennai Super Kings before bouncing back to beat Punjab Kings in Bengaluru.

However, since then, they have lost back-to-back while playing at their home venue and will next travel to Jaipur where they take on Rajasthan Royals  – the only team so far that is yet to lose a game.
