Legendary Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh was spotted having a chat with former Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal in Birmingham. Harbhajan and Akmal were representing their countries in the World Championship Of Legends. After the match, a clip of their interaction was shared on X (formerly Twitter).
In the video, both cricketers engaged in a conversation before being separated by another individual. Later, Akmal gave an interview with Paktv.tv, as per NDTV and said, “(Mujhse galti hui thi aur wahi ek baat chal rahi this), I made a mistake and that was the only topic discussed.”
He further said that the duo also discussed Babar Azam being mocked by Harbhajan Singh and the Indian spinner reportedly agreed he should not have done that.

Harbhajan Singh and Kamran Akmal were recently involved in a fierce verbal altercation during the T20 World Cup 2024. The said incident occurred in the India versus Pakistan clash of the T20 World Cup 2024 in New York. During the high-octane affair, Akmal took a dig at India’s Arshdeep Singh on a Pakistani TV show.
“Kuch bhi ho sakta hai… Dekhe last over karna Arshdeep Singh ne hai. Waise uska rhythm nahi laga. 12 baj gaye hai, [Anything can happen. The last over will be bowled by Arshdeep Singh; he hasn’t looked in a great rhythm. And It is already 12],” the former Pakistan wicketkeeper had said.

Following the remark, Harbhajan Singh launched a scathing attack on Kamran Akmal. Sharing a post on X, the spinner wrote, “You should know the history of Sikhs before you open your filthy mouth. We Sikhs saved your mothers and sisters when they were abducted by invaders, the time invariably was 12 o’clock. Shame on you guys. Have some gratitude.”

Hours after Harbhajan Singh’s comments, Kamran Akmal issued an apology claiming he had no intentions of hurting anyone’s sentiments. “I deeply regret my recent comments and sincerely apologise to Harbhajan Singh and the Sikh community. My words were inappropriate and disrespectful. I have the utmost respect for Sikhs all over the world and never intended to hurt anyone. I am truly sorry,” Akmal wrote.

As for the World Championships of Legends match, Pakistan Champions beat India Champions by 68 runs. Kamran Akmal had a phenomenal show in the game as he guided his side to 243 while batting first. Akmal himself notched a 40-ball 77, smashing nine boundaries and four sixes. During the run chase, Wahab Riaz and Shoaib Malik combined to scalp six wickets while curbing India to 175.
