Jasprit Bumrah played a big role in helping Team India end the 11-year wait for an ICC trophy this year. The 30-year-old pacer played in all eight matches of the T20 World Cup 2024 and picked up 15 wickets. For his super show with the ball in the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup, Bumrah won the Player of the Series award.

After helping India beat South Africa by seven runs in the T20 World Cup 2024 final played in Barbados on June 29, the Ahmedabad-born pacer returned to India on Thursday (July 4) morning and met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in New Delhi.

During the hour-long meeting between the Indian players and PM Modi, Bumrah was accompanied by his wife, Sanjana Ganesan, and 10-month-old son, Angad. After celebrating the T20 World Cup title win with the PM, Bumrah took to X (formerly Twitter) to share three pictures and captioned the post, “It was an honour to be invited to our honourable Prime Minister’s residence this morning. Thank you so much for your warmth and hospitality sir @narendramodi.”

Bumrah’s post after meeting PM Modi went viral on the internet because of the picture in which the Indian Prime Minister can be seen holding his son, Angad.

The adorable picture was shared by his wife Sanjana as well on Instagram with the caption, “such an incredibly special morning.”

Angad was born on September 4, 2023. Bumrah was playing for India in the Asia Cup at that time, and he missed the India-Nepal match to return to India to be with his wife at the time of his first child’s birth.

After meeting with PM Modi in Delhi, Indian players have left for Mumbai, where they are set to take part in the victory parade at the Marine Drive on Thursday evening. The two-hour-long celebration will start at 5 p.m. and conclude at Wankhede Stadium. The BCCI has also organised a prize distribution ceremony at the iconic stadium in Mumbai, where BCCI secretary Jay Shah will give Rs 125 crore to the Indian players and members of the support staff.
