Is Ryan Reynolds gay or straight?
Ryan Reynolds is probably not gay. He's never explicitly stated how he identifies, but throughout his time in the spotlight, Reynolds has only publicly dated women. He is currently married to actress Blake Lively, and the pair have four children together. All signs point to Ryan Reynolds being straight, though he hasn’t ever made this distinction specifically.
Where did the rumors about his sexuality come from?
Rumors about Reynolds’ sexuality spread following a viral YouTube video. In March of 2025, controversial commentator Candace Owens made a viral YouTube video suggesting that Reynolds is hiding his true sexuality. In the video, Owens points to several “signs” that Reynolds might be gay, including comedy sketches/skits where he kisses men, and a moment at the 2017 Golden Globes where Reynolds kisses Andrew Garfield as part of a comedic bit. Needless to say, the rumors discussed in Owens’ video are unfounded. Reynolds is happily married to a woman, has only dated women in the past, and has not come out as gay or as part of the broader LGBTQ+ community. As a result, it’s best not to speculate or question Reynold’s sexuality unless he speaks up on the topic himself.
