Boat caprizes in the Ganga in Varanasi, 2 dead, 16 missing

Varanasi: Two people have died and 16 were still missing after a boat capsized in the Ganga river near Varanasi on Tuesday. At least 22 people were rescued on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed condolences over the boat capsize incident. Rescue operations are being conducted by the NDRF.

The District Magistrate has issued an alert. The boat was heading to Mirzapur from Varanasi when it capsized due to a sudden surge in the water current.
