Crime Branch to probe Remuna murder case

BALASORE: Failing to crack the Remuna murder case, police have transferred the case to Crime Branch (CB) for further investigation. Officer-in-charge (OIC) of Remuna Police Station, Ajay Tirky has been transferred, said Balasore SP Rajesh Kumar. Kalpalata Sahu of Sahada area was found burnt in an under construction building, around 200 metres from Remuna temple on May 26. About a week back, locals had staged a road blockade, demanding a CB probe into the incident. They also demanded the transfer of the OIC, after the police failed to make any arrests a month into the incident. Police had initially claimed it to be suicide. Though a few suspects were interrogated following recovery of the victim’s cellphone, no arrests have been made yet.
