The actor says he was inspired by Hrithik Roshan's film 'Krrish'

Mumbai: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who feels he was too old to play on screen superhero, has done 80 per cent of the stunts for his upcoming film Ra.One himself.

"I think may be I am too old to play a superhero but I still gave it a shot. And I am happy that we have pulled it off well. I have performed almost 75 to 80 per cent of the stunts on my own. It was very difficult at times," he said

during the theatrical trailer launch of his latest venture. Ra.One, a science-fiction superhero film, has been directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced under the banner of Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment. Besides Khan, it also

features Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal.

Talking about his 'Ra.One' experiences, the 45-year-old actor said, "If you have to do a superhero film then you have to be physically fit and mentally strong. It was difficult to wear the harness inside the suit. With it one

cannot eat food. I lost six-seven kgs."

"A lot of things were difficult. The most painful was the train sequences. The most enjoyable was landing on the train as I did it in front of my son, who was very impressed. Now, when I see the shots of the film I feel shocked." King Khan said he was inspired by his friend Hrithik Roshan's film Krrish and always had a strong desire to do a superhero movie.

"I love comic and superhero films. I am very much inspired by films like 'Krrish' and 'Drona'. Since childhood I used to tie towel on my shoulders, wear blue tights, red swimming costume and used to jump from a height. I loved comic

superheroes and films like Teesri Akan, Paras Mani. I always had this desire to do superhero films."
