Mumbai: From acrobatics to pole dancing gigs and fire acts, the much-awaited reality show 'India's Got Talent' has all that it takes to grab viewers' attention. So yes, if you have been expecting the show to be bolder and impressive than its previous seasons, the show will meet your expectations.
The show, which starts today, will be judged by filmmaker Karan Johar, actresses Kirron Kher and Malaika Arora Khan. To make the show more appealing and interesting, the makers have roped in stand-up comedian Bharti Singh. While her acts and quirky one-liners are expected to leave everyone in splits, viewers have been a bit worried about the impact the show will leave on the minds of children of impressionable age, courtesy its hazardous acts.
According to Karan, these acts on prime time won't leave a negative impact on the children. "Have you seen other shows on prime time that come without a disclaimer? There are some shows on prime time that are even more detrimental to the mind of a child than good old reality television," the 41-year-old had said in an interview.
"There are certain serials whose regressive thoughts are more detrimental to the mind. Here all three of us make it a point to repeat that if children are watching the stunts and acts, please do not try them at home," he said. "Showing such acts on prime time can impact children in a negative way, but Karan, one of the judges on the show, believes that there are even more detrimental things beamed on TV, which come without any disclaimer," he added. As the filmmaker says, necessary precautions and safety measures are being taken to avert any untoward accident on the sets.
Kirron, who is back to judge the show for its new in a row, says she is eagerly waiting for the show to begin. "I eagerly await a new season of India's Got Talent because every year, the caliber of the contestants and their talent seems to grow in terms of innovation, awe and sheer stage value. It is endearing to see that so many unique talents reside within our nation and I enjoy it the most when the arts of India take to the stage to showcase the diversity of our culture," she had said.
For Malaika Arora Khan, the show holds huge significance, thanks to its legacy to bring forth India's exceptional talent. "I find immense pride in being associated with India's Got Talent because of its legacy of bringing forth the most outstanding talent that puts India on the global map. The show has moved beyond the stage while venturing into different areas including the outdoors, water and even a circus. The grit and determination involved in every act are what attracts me the most," she has been quoyted as saying.
Since the first episode of the show will feature actress Madhuri Dixit-Nene, TRPs are expected to rise. For those who came in late, the 'Dedh Ishqiya' actress will not only join the judging panel, but also share inspirational stories and anecdotes with the participants. The show's subsequent episodes will feature special guests including Remo D'souza, Manish Paul amongst others.
