New Delhi: It seems controversy has become the middle name of actress Mallika Sherawat.
The Bollywood siren, who recently made headlines for charging a bomb for an hour-long performance on New Year’s eve at a Mumbai hotel and then an obscenity case slapped against her, has now got another obscenity complaint against her.
Baroda Bar Association (BBA) President Narendra Tiwari has filed a complaint in the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court seeking action against Mallika and owner of J W Mariott Hotel in Mumbai for ‘ugly and dirty public programme on December 31’.
"Under Sections of the Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act 1956 and Sections 368 and 244 of the Indian Penal Code, this public programme was ugly and dirty as is evident from news reports and photographs and such conduct in a public place is illegal," contended Tiwari in the complain filed on Friday.
A fortnight ago, social worker Vinod Jain had written to the Mumbai Police seeking action against Mallika for wearing ‘obscene clothes’.
Jain was quoted by news agencies as saying that he saw Mallika's performance on certain television channels and was offended.
"The actress was wearing obscene clothes and dancing in a manner that was very offensive to our culture and women," Jain was quoted as saying.
Mallika had worn a skin-suit for her 45-minute performance at Hotel J W Marriott’s extravaganza.
