New Delhi: Microsoft is ready to give the world a peep into its next operating system - the successor to Windows 8 at an event on September 30, The Verge reports.
The upcoming update to the Windows operating system is codenamed 'Threshold' and it will be first rolled out to developers. New changes in the OS are likely to be a new Start Menu and it could also include an early desktop version of Cortana, Microsoft's answer to Apple's Siri.
The new operating system is still under development and what Microsoft will show off at the event will be a preview version primarily targeted towards developers.
The current version of Microsoft's desktop operating system - Windows 8 was made available to the general users on October 26, 2012 followed by Windows 8.1 on October 17, 2013.
