Pakistan: United Nations Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie called on President General Pervez Musharraf on Friday to express the world body's support for Pakistan in its efforts to rebuild lives and infrastructure damaged in last month's deadly earthquake.
She was accompanied by Hollywood actor Brad Pitt with whom she has been romantically linked for months.
Jolie, who visited the quake zone, said the magnitude of the disaster had touched her deeply and called for consistent and long-term support for relief and rehabilitation of the survivors.
Musharraf in turn thanked her for her support and expressed his gratitude to the world community for responding to Pakistan's call for assistance in the hour of trial.
He said he was particularly grateful to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan for his generous support and concern.
