New KAT member to be sworn in Thursday

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mathew C Kunnumkal, the newly appointed non-judicial member of the Kerala Administrative Tribunal (KAT), will take oath of office on Thursday. The function will be held at the tribunal hall (Old Collectorate building) here at 10.30 a.m. Mathew C Kunnumkal was appointed along with S Pradeeep Kumar Naidu, former Special Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh, as the non-judicial member of the KAT by an order of the Central Government on  December 14, 2011. The members will hear the cases after the ceremony.  New cases can be filed on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The chairman, Justice K Balakrishnan Nair, will conduct a sitting on December 27 and 30 as the tribunal will be closed for Christmas holidays from December 24 to 31. The office will function from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
