Newborns body found, cops raid mess, factory

PARADIP: The body of a newborn baby girl was found in a dumping ground in Paradipgarh Industrial Township on Friday. Paradip Lock Police have seized the body and sent it to Kujang Hospital for post-mortem. The police led by IIC Yotiranjan Samantray later raided a mess and interrogated the 40 women inmates. The Falcon factory was also raided and identity of the women workers in the prawn plant verified.The manager, Jagabandhu Samal, has been detained for interrogation.Police suspect that the baby was illegitimate and killed before being dumped in the garbage.Efforts are on to trace the mother, said Assistant Superintendent of police, Paradip, Bijaya Sahu, adding that stern action would be initiated against the accused.
