BANGALORE: From Monday, it will be a hard phase for Namma Metro, as a team of officials from Railway Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) has arrived in the city for Oscillation trials.
A team comprising supervising officers and technical staff from RDSO reached the city, a senior official from RDSO confirmed."The team is bringing along a special vehicle, Track Recording Car [TRC], which has three to four coaches equipped with various machines to check the speed of train, track design and other parameters," RDSO Executive Director (Administration) A K Mathur said.

The RDSO officials will conduct an Oscillation and Emergency Brake Distance trial. Through the track geometry car, also known as track recording car, which is equipped with different measuring systems and data management systems, it will create a profile of the track being inspected.

The RDSO team will decide operational speed for Bangalore metro and then will provide a speed certificate, which Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation will have to present to the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) to get his approval.

However, till then Bangaloreans will have to wait and watch.
