PCC to take up Rameshwar Oraon's allegations before party high command

The Jharkhand PCC will demand disciplinary action against former union minister and party leader Rameshwar Oraon for publicly blaming the state leadership and organisation for his loss in the Lok Sabha

elections from Lohardaga seat.

"Rameshwar Oraon has been giving statements in the media, blaming PCC leadership and state organisation for his loss from Lohardaga. The party has taken it seriously; will report to party incharge and the high command," the press release said.

The PCC would demand to the high command for disciplinary action against him, it added.

It said electorate percentage in the LS elections increased in the state as well as in Lohardaga constituency where an increase of 91,000 votes was registered compared to 2009 polls.

"Rameshwar Oraon has also blamed the Gumla District Congress Committee for his defeat even after getting 27,000 votes in Gumla assembly segment of Lohardaga compared to 12,500 votes it got last time," the release said.

Oraon had lost Lohardaga seat in 2009 and 2014 and also in the 2009 assembly elections, it said and asked him what contribution he made for the organisation and for his constituency after he became union minister in UPA-I and Chairman of Schedule Caste Commission during UPA-II.

"Rameshwar Oraon did not consider it proper to take part in a PCC meeting convened on May 26 to introspect the defeat despite being invited. Instead of availing the opportunity to keep his grievances at the right forum he went public with his views," the statement said, accusing Oraon of trying to weaken the party.

"His continued allegations against the party is sending wrong message to the party workers," it added.
