Rythu Yatras from May 10

HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will launch the Rythu Chaitanya Yatra on May 10 from Mahbubnagar district. The yatras -farmer awareness programmes - will continue up to May 31, agriculture minister Kanna Lakshminarayana has said.Releasing posters of the yatras in his chambers at the Secretariat on Tuesday, the minister said that in view of the bypolls in 18 Assembly and one Parliamentary constituency, Rythu Chaitanya Yatra will not be held in these constituencies.  The officials would educate farmers on cost reduction, soil testing, fertiliser consumption, organic fertilisers usage, etc, he said. The state government will encourage farmers to take up pulses like jowar and groundnut, the minister said.
