In the Indian restaurant industry, there has been a discernible increase in the number of women undertaking leadership positions in cafes, restaurants, and kitchens, demonstrating their adeptness in the kitchen and proficient management abilities. Recently, a similar incident has garnered attention. A woman from the Theni district of Tamil Nadu is currently garnering attention for starting a startup business.

According to reports, a woman named Hema, who hails from the Bharatpur area of Theni district, prepares and sells various powders, including nutritional mix, rye malt, and malted barley, from small grains.

She has completed her bachelor’s degree, but she always has a dream to do something of her own. So she, along with her mother, thought that they should start their businesses and become entrepreneurs. She has had a desire to make food products that innovatively reach people.

She has learned the preparation of nutrient mixtures from pulses and micro grains at the Central Agricultural Science Training Center. There, she learned the practice of making value-added products from small grains. Now Hema is preparing and selling instant co-nutrition mix and nutritional powder from small grains.

This nutritional blend is prepared from different types of grains, including black wheat, red rice, rye, and groundnut. Apart from that, she is also amazing at making milk powder from small grains. They have been producing 3 kg to 5 kg per day.

In a recent media interaction, Hema said that she is now planning to expand their business and start a large-scale manufacturing company and is also planning to sell the products online.

According to reports spanning the last two years, there is a higher likelihood of women starting businesses compared to men.

Earlier, similar news came into the limelight when a woman named Priya Sharma, owner of Bonfire Pizza in Rishikesh, recounted a notable rise in monthly production following expert assistance from Swiggy’s account managers.

In an interview, she shared, “When I started my online venture, we were making just 30 pizzas per month, and I considered quitting. That’s when Swiggy’s account managers came to the rescue. With their expert strategies, we started making 300 pizzas per month. Swiggy’s support renewed my confidence, and I’m now eager to explore more expansion opportunities.”
