Sajevan Machadath, an autorickshaw driver at Arimbur, Kerala has been capturing the headlines recently for his ability to identify the person by just looking at their feet. It sounds unbelievable at first, but according to Local 18 Kerala, Sajevan has identified 500 individuals’ names correctly by just looking at their feet. He didn’t have to bother himself even once for watching their faces.
With this talent, the Kerala-based autorickshaw driver has got his name recorded in the Limca Book of World Records in 2011. After not remaining in the spotlight for more than 10 years, Sajevan is now back in the public domain. He has been entertaining the public by telling their names by just watching their feet. The Arimbur natives’s joy knew no bounds when they got to witness this capability of the autorickshaw driver.
Have a look at Sajevan’s performance at one of the events.
The first instance of Sajevan’s sharp memory to identify 500 people’s names happened at the Arimbur High School, Parakkad, Kerala in 2009. He identified the names of the guests, irrespective of their gender, by just having a glance at their feet. He also called out the school owner’s names by just having one look at their footwear.
People are made to sit behind a specially prepared curtain for the trick and Sajevan finds their names by just looking at their feet. This curtain hides the individual’s whole body except their feet to prove Sajevan is not trying to take any help. However, there is an important aspect in the enabling of this trick. The people who this autorickshaw driver identifies have boarded his three-wheeler. Sajevan remembers their names and then identifies them by having a swift look at their feet. After more than a decade, Sajevan’s amazing memory is still intact and can identify the children’s names as well by watching their feet.
Under the guidance of the actor Nanda Kishore, Arimbur’s residents have honoured Sajevan with gifts. Nanda Kishore is known for his acting in the films Praveen IPS, Lucky, Nalla etc.
