New Delhi: The New Year's Day bash turned a tragedy in Goa's Colva beach when three students from Nagaland went missing from Colva beach on Monday. All three of them -- two boys and a girl -- were feared drowned.

Police said 49 students arrived in Goa on December 30 and were staying at Vasco da Gama. Five of them were students of the Agriculture University in Nagaland, who were on an all-India tour. The group visited the beach on Monday and few students entered the water for a swim.

Three of them were washed away by the current and are feared drowned, police said. The students have been identified as Vilasietuo (21), Zaiamo (22), and the girl, Ajungla (23). The police, with the help of the Coast Guard, is continuing a search for the missing students.

Agency reports said the group was to leave for Nagaland on Monday evening.
