As Actress Shilpa Shirodkar Enters Bigg Boss 18 House, A Look At Her Acting Career

Shilpa Shirodkar was once a part of the showbiz industry and acted in films opposite many renowned stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty, Govinda, Akshay Kumar, and Shah Rukh Khan. Shilpa made her debut with the television film Janam, but shot to fame with the 1990 film Kishen Kanhaiya. She enacted Radha’s role in this Rakesh Roshan-directorial, starring Anil Kapoor in the lead role. She also impressed the audience with her acting prowess in the film Khuda Gawah, directed by Mukul Anand. She could not maintain this success streak in her acting career. She suffered a rough patch in her acting career with 13 flop films and soon decided to leave Bollywood. She married a UK-based banker Aparesh Ranjit in 2000. She embraced motherhood in 2003 with a daughter named Anoushka Ranjit. She then remained on a sabbatical from the industry for 13 years.

After 13 years, Shilpa made a comeback to the industry with her role in the serial Ek Mutthi Aasmaan (2013-14). She then played key roles in the serials Silsila Pyaar Ka (2016) and Savitri Devi College & Hospital (2017-18) Shilpa also acted in a 2020 film titled Guns of Banaras. Guns of Banaras received mixed reviews from the audience with many calling it a watchable film. Others termed it a pathetic rip-off of the Tamil action film Polladhavan, directed by Vetrimaran. It stars Dhanush, Divya Spandana and others in important roles.

Shilpa Shirodkar recently joined the Bigg Boss 18 house. This season, the creators have introduced a unique theme titled Time Ka Taandav. This hints at the chaos and unpredictability that lies ahead. Along with the gripping theme, the reality show features an exciting lineup of contestants, ready to bring their personalities to the fore.

Apart from Shilpa Shirodkar, the other contestants in Bigg Boss include Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, General Secretary of BJP’s Youth Wing and Social media influencer Hemlata Sharma, widely recognised as Viral Bhabhi. Maharashtra-based lawyer Gunaratna Sadavarte, actor Karan Veer Mehra, actress Muskan Bamne, Alice Kaushik and others will also be a part of the show.
