‘Never Lose Hope’: High-Profile Lawyers Hari Shankar Jain & Vishnu Call Pran Pratishtha ‘Grand Success Day’

Renowned lawyers Hari Shankar Jain and his son Vishnu Shankar Jain, who fought the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi case in Ayodhya, Gyanvapi case in Varanasi, Taj Mahal in Agra and Qutub Minar in Delhi, spoke to News18 on the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, calling in a “grand success day” for the entire country.

“After a long legal battle, we are able to see such a historic day. It’s a grand success day for the whole country. ‘Kabhi Himmat Nahi Haarni Chahiye (never lose hope)’,” Hari Shankar Jain told News18.

His son, Vishnu, said to News18 that “it is a second Diwali for us” after a grand Pran Pratishtha is being held in Ayodhya to install the Ram Lalla idol after centuries’ old temple movement.

Hari Shankar Jain represented the Hindu side in the Babri Masjid case in 1993. He won the legal battle in the Allahabad High Court. His son, Vishnu, was assisting him during that time.

The Ayodhya dispute, which started in 1993, ended in 2019 with the Supreme Court verdict. By then, Vishnu fought the case of Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya.

Hari Shankar contested against senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi from Amethi and also filed a petition against her in the court for not being an Indian citizen.

Vishnu is the spokesperson of ‘Hindu Front for Justice’. He started practising Ram Janmabhoomi case, challenging the 2010 verdict of Allahabad High Court in 2011. In 2016, he passed the exam of advocate on record of the Supreme Court and registered his first appearance there.

The high-profile father-son duo have fought more than 100 cases so far.

The duo are also fighting a case for the 27 Hindu and Jain temples, which were destroyed by the Muslim invaders to build Qutub Minar. Besides, there are also the cases filed for the claimed Shiv Mandir in Taj Mahal, challenging the Places of Worship Act, 1991 and the Waqf Act of 1995 and its amendments made in 2013, and the provisions made by various governments based on the Sachar committee report.
