Jaitley was sworn in as a Minister on Monday evening along with PM Modi and his 45 Council of Ministers.
New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party MP Arun Jaitley took charge as the Union Finance Minister on Tuesday.
Going by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'minimum government, maximum governance' policy, Jaitley is heading a cluster of ministries including Finance, Defence and Corporate Affairs.
Jaitley was sworn in as a Minister on Monday evening along with PM Modi and his 45 Council of Ministers.
Jaitley is a member of Rajya Sabha. He had tried his luck in the general elections by contesting from Amritsar but lost the seat to veteran Congress leader Captain Amarinder Singh.
