Karnataka: Congress MLA booked for attacking cops at an upscale pub
MLA and his friends allegedly forced the pub staff to serve them liquor and play music even after 11:30 pm.

Bangalore: A Congress MLA has allegedly attacked police constables at an upscale pub in Bangalore on Tuesday night. Vijayananda Kashappanavar, MLA from Hunagund had gone to an elite pub at UB City for his birthday.

MLA and his friends allegedly forced the pub staff to serve them liquor and play music even after 11:30 pm. In Bangalore, all pubs must stop music and the sale of liquor at 11:30 pm in the night. The terrified staff served them liquor and played music even after that.

The Cubbon Park police station beat constables visited the pub at 1 o' clock and ordered them to leave. MLA and his friends allegedly attacked the constables. They informed their superiors. When they visited the pub, MLA and his friends threatened them.

But an inspector recorded the happenings on his mobile phone. One of MLAs friends Somashekhar Gowda is a known rowdy sheeter. Bangalore city police commissioner Raghavendra Auradkar has ordered the police to book MLA and his friends for attacking the police and violating pub rules.

The home minister KJ George said that he will order an investigation into the incident. The leader of the opposition Jagadish Shettar has demanded the arrest of MLA and his friends.
