Puducherry: Even as the ruling Congress is yet to ascertain the number of seats to contest in the 30-member Assembly, the Puducherry party unit has started receiving applications from aspirants.
PCC president A V Subramanian told reporters that the party commenced the process of receiving the applications for various constituencies in the Union Territory on Tuesday.
Thirteen aspirants submitted their applications seeking party ticket at the party office.
Those who submitted the applications included Agriculture Minister A Namassivayam, current legislator N Anand, former MLAs V M C V Ganapathy and R Kamalakannan.
Namassivayam, who was elected from Oulgaret constituency in 2006, is now seeking to contest from Villianoor which had returned an Independent, he said.
