Tollywood star Nithiin returned to the big screen with the much-anticipated romantic comedy, Extra Ordinary Man. The movie was written and directed by Vakkantham Vamsi and also featured Sreeleela as the female lead. This romantic action entertainer was released on December 8, 2023, and received mixed to negative reviews from critics and audiences. The film ended up grossing average at the box office. According to the latest reports, the makers are now thinking of releasing the movie on the OTT platform Netflix in the first week of January, coinciding with the festival of Sankranti. An official announcement regarding this is yet to be made. This Telugu-language action comedy film is backed jointly by Sreshth Movies and Ruchira Entertainments. It also features Rajasekhar, Pavitra Lokesh, Sudev Nair, Harsha Vardhan, and Rao Ramesh in the supporting roles.

Extra Ordinary Man revolves around a distinctive plot where a former movie extra tells the story of how he became a smuggler and vigilante hero. The music for the film and the background score were composed by Harris Jayaraj. The audio rights were acquired by Aditya Music. The cinematography of the movie was handled by Arthur A Wilson, J Yuvaraj, and Sai Sriram, while Prawin Pudi was in charge of the editing.

This is Vakkantam Vamsi’s second movie as a director, and his hopes are high since his first film, Naa Peru Surya, Naa Illu India, starring Allu Arjun, ended up as a failure at the box office. Extra Ordinary Man, which was made on a budget of Rs 35 crore only, managed to earn Rs 10.25 crore at the box office.

Before Extra Ordinary Man, Nithiin was last seen in the Telugu-language political action film Macherla Niyojakavargam, which was released last year. The film was written and directed by editor MS Rajashekhar Reddy, making his directorial debut. The film also featured Krithi Shetty and Catherine Tresa in pivotal roles, Samuthirakani, Rajendra Prasad, Murali Sharma, Vennela Kishore, and Subhalekha Sudhakar played supporting roles. It was produced by Nithiin’s family under Sreshth Movies. The film turned out to be a box-office disappointment.
