Google Could Finally Open Circle To Search For Other Phone Brands: Know More

Google is reportedly planning to expand its AI-powered Circle to Search feature to other Android smartphones. Introduced in January 2024, the feature was originally stated to be available only on Google and Samsung devices. But according to a tipster, it is now also coming to the Tecno V Fold 2 flagship smartphone, which was introduced last week.

The Circle to Search feature, which debuted with the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, is a visual search tool that lets users search for anything by just circling it. It is powered by artificial intelligence and facilitates quick web searches.

Taking to X, tipster Mishaal Rahman shared that the company is planning to release the feature to “more Android phones next month, ending its exclusivity for Pixel and Samsung phones.”

However, an official confirmation from the company is still awaited. The leak suggests that other Android phone users, including those with devices from OnePlus, Oppo, Redmi, or Motorola won’t have to wait longer to get Google’s AI features on their smartphones.

How Circle to Search Works

Currently, the feature is available on select Samsung and Google devices. It can be accessed by long-pressing the Home or Power buttons on a compatible device. Once enabled, the user can highlight an area on the screen by circling it, and the function will immediately conduct a visual online search to provide additional information. Users can use it to translate and copy text as well.

Recently, the company made a big upgrade to its Circle to search feature which allows your device to automatically scan the barcodes and QR Codes, making it a lot more useful and efficient for retrieving information.

Google has been continuously working on its AI features. Last month, a report stated that the tech giant was working on a ‘crop and share’ feature that would allow users to crop a portion of a photograph and share it directly with friends and family via third-party apps. The feature could also recognise songs and audio playing on the device or nearby.

The company has also introduced a new feature that allows users to listen to the web pages on Chrome.
