The popular reality TV show Bigg Boss will launch its 17th season this weekend. This season of the controversial reality show is expected to be grand, and the promos offer a glimpse of what is to come in the season that centres around the theme of ‘Dil, Dimaag Aur Dum’. The show was first launched in 2006 and, since then, has undergone many format changes. However, one thing that has remained consistent is bringing famous celebrities under one roof.
Fans look forward to each season and show their support for their favourite player. Before the new season premieres, here’s a rundown of the previous season’s champions:
Bigg Boss 1 – Rahul Roy
Rahul Roy defeated Carol Gracias to win the inaugural season of Bigg Boss. He received Rs 1 Crore in addition to the BB trophy.
Bigg Boss 2 – Ashutosh Kaushik
In 2008, Ashutosh Kaushik won Bigg Boss 2. Along with the trophy, he also received Rs 1 Crore prize money.
Bigg Boss 3- Vindu Dara Singh
Vindu Dara Singh lifted the trophy for Bigg Boss 3. He won a grand prize of Rs 1 Crore after defeating Pravesh Rana.
Bigg Boss 4- Shweta Tiwari
A renowned television face, Shweta Tiwari, won Bigg Boss 4 in 2011 and received Rs 1 Crore in prize money.
Bigg Boss 5- Juhi Parmar
Juhi Parmar was crowned Bigg Boss 5 champion in 2012. During the season, she competed against Pooja Bedi, Sunny Leone, and Shakti Kapoor. She was also awarded Rs 1 Crore.
Bigg Boss 6- Urvashi Dholakia
In the sixth season of Bigg Boss, the prize money was reduced. Urvashi Dholakia, who defeated Imam Siddique, won 50 lakh.
Bigg Boss 7- Gauahar Khan
Gauahar Khan defeated Tanishaa Mukerji, Kushal Tandon, Pratyusha Banerjee, and Ajaz Khan to win Bigg Boss 7 and took home the prize money of Rs 50 lakh.
Bigg Boss 8- Gautam Gulati
TV actor Gautam Gulati became the winner of Bigg Boss 8. He was given ₹50 lakh along with the trophy.
Bigg Boss 9- Prince Narula
Prince Narula won Bigg Boss 9 and took home Rs 50 lakh. This season became famous as he fell in love with his co-contestant, Yuvika Chaudhary, whom he married later.
Bigg Boss 10- Manveer Gurjar
Manveer Gurjar, who was touted as the first non-celebrity to win Bigg Boss, received a prize of Rs. 50 lakh. He defeated Bani J to win the prize.
Bigg Boss 11- Shilpa Shinde
Shilpa Shinde won the Bigg Boss 11 trophy and received Rs 44 lakh after defeating Vikas Gupta, who stood as the runner-up and received Rs 6 lakh.
Bigg Boss 12- Dipika Kakar
Dipika Kakar won Bigg Boss 12 and a cash prize of Rs 30 lakh as she beat Sreesanth, who was the runner-up.
Bigg Boss 13- Sidharth Shukla
The late actor Sidharth Shukla won 40 lakh in addition to the trophy. The initial prize money was 50 lakh; however, finalist Paras Chhabra received 10 lakh.
Bigg Boss 14- Rubina Dilaik
In one of the popular seasons, Rubina Dilaik won a whopping 36 lakh on Bigg Boss 14. The prize money was cut from the initial 50 lahks since her co-contestant Rakhi Sawant chose to withdraw from the game, leaving with 14 lahks.
Bigg Boss 15- Tejasswi Prakash
Bigg Boss 15 was won by Tejasswi Prakash, and the first runner-up was Pratik Sehajpal. She won the prize money of Rs 40 lakh.
Bigg Boss 16- MC Stan
Rapper MC Stan won the last season while Shiv emerged as the first runner-up. MC Stan took home a cash prize of about Rs. 31 lakh.
