People across the world keep coming up with creative recipes or bizarre ways of making simple foods. The internet is full of such videos and keeps the audience hooked till the last shot. Remember Dolly Chaiwala who shot to fame for his quirky approach to making tea? Similarly, a clip from Bangladesh has surfaced on social media and has taken it by storm. A man can be seen making Jhal Muri in a unique way which is bound to leave you stunned.
Jhal Muri is one of the staple street foods of Bangladesh and West Bengal, India. A now-viral post shows a man dressed in an orange t-shirt and blue pants, a pair of black sunglasses and earphones plugged into his ears, preparing Jhal Muri. Jhal muri is made of puffed rice, chopped onions, cucumbers, chillies, tomatoes and coriander leaves, pickled mustard oil, boiled potatoes, peanuts, chana chur, bhujia and even coconut shavings. The man was preparing this dish with an ‘unmatched swag.’ But what caught the attention of the internet was the vessel. Instead of a steel utensil, he can be seen stirring the mixture with his bare hands in an Asian Paints plastic container, leaving everyone stunned.
The caption read, “Dolly Vai Style Celebrity Jhalmuri Wala Of Bangladesh.”The clip has amassed 13.6 million views on Instagram. A comment read, “Bro creating a new virus.” Another wondered “Does his unimaginable swag cancel out the diarrhea?” One questioned the hygiene practice and commented, “Genuine question: what makes them think this is not disgusting?” Seeing his unique style, another comment read, “Bro think he’s the main character.”
The Jhal Muri wala’s uniqueness, especially his hairstyle, resembles that of Dolly Chaiwala, a popular face on the internet. He catapulted to ultimate fame after he served a cup of tea to billionaire Bill Gates. This chaiwala has a roadside tea stall near the old VCA stadium in the Sadar area of Nagpur and caught eyeballs for his eccentric way of tea-making. He shared that he is inspired by South films and has learned the styles by watching such content.
