Bone-Chilling: Alert Conductor Saves Woman From Falling Off Moving Bus

A year ago, a college student was about to fall from a moving bus in Chittar, Ammapettai block, Erode district, when an alert private bus conductor saved the woman on time. The video has now gone viral after the conductor recently posted footage of the incident as his WhatsApp status.

According to The Hindu, the incident occurred on January 17, 2023, at 7 pm, as the girl was about to disembark from the Erode to Mettur bus at the Chittar stop. She was holding her bag with her right hand and her phone with her left. She lost her balance as she approached the footboard and was about to fall.

Erode conductor S. Gowtham, who was standing on the footboard, grabbed her by her hair and dragged her back into the bus. Onlookers were shocked to see the incident. Before they could react or do something, the conductor had saved the woman.

After a few minutes, the moving bus came to a halt at the bus stop, and the young lady got off and just walked away as if nothing had happened. As soon as she left, everyone on the bus started talking about the incident including the bus conductor, who saved her in the nick of time.

The incident was caught on the bus’s CCTV camera, and conductor Gowtham posted a video of it on his WhatsApp status on January 31, 2024, The Hindu states. The clip went viral on social media after being shared by his friends.

Seven years into his job, the conductor told The Hindu that the student had stumbled because she was not paying attention when she was close to the footboard. He continued by saying that it was his responsibility to keep commuters safe. In addition, he gave commuters advice not to board or get off buses with their phones in their hands.

On the other hand, a woman recently on a government bus in Chennai narrowly escaped death when she fell through a hole in the floor. The woman was sitting in the bus travelling from Vallalar Nagar to Thiruverkadu. As she stood up from the seat, the floor beneath her cracked, and she fell through the hole. Passengers were shocked and alerted the driver as they tried to keep the woman from being crushed by the tyre. They only let her go when the bus came to a stop.
