The Delhi police utilises every possible opportunity in innovative ways to spread awareness among the masses. Now, in a fresh take, the Delhi police is back with another road safety advisory, urging people to follow traffic rules. As January 2024 ‘finally’ ended, the month appeared to have adopted the resolution to move at an exceptionally slow pace, leaving citizens resorting to social media to express their frustration. Resonating with the sentiments of the public, the Delhi police showcased their flair on January 31 by sharing a witty post on platform X (Formerly Twitter). The post aimed to educate them about the importance of following traffic rules.
In their post, Delhi Police conveyed a message suggesting that just as people patiently endured the seemingly never-ending January, they can similarly wait for 60 seconds when the traffic light is red in colour. The Delhi police urged people to avoid any rush and wait patiently for the traffic lights to turn green. “It may be a long January, but don’t make it your last January. When it comes to red lights, let’s hit the brakes, not the gas, reads the caption of Delhi Police’s new road safety advisory.

This post mustered more than 5,000 views on X. Several users flocked to the comments section to express their views.
Earlier, Delhi Police shared a post encouraging citizens to focus on driving over indulging in other ‘cravings’. According to the post, the first hoarding resembled a Swiggy ad, attracting drivers to order a bowl of soup to meet their cravings. The following hoarding looked like an ad which urged people to watch the Netflix series named ‘Killer Soup’.
However, in an artistic twist, Delhi Police used a third hoarding to bring attention back to safe driving. The third post effectively toppled the charm of the previous two posts. “Craving par nahi, driving par dhyan do,” Delhi Police captioned the meme post.
Another post that gained much traction on X was about bikers’ safety. To make the post more engaging, the department made sure to add a pinch of humour to the advisory. It had a screenshot of a Google result page, with a query in the search box reading, “How to do a wheelie.”
