A flight attendant named Esther Sturrus has dominated the headlines with her TikTok video. She has shared many easy hacks for the problems faced in flights and hotels. Esther shared that in many instances, the people have forgotten their valuable items in the hotels. According to her, if the guests put a shoe alongside the valuables in the hotel safe, this will help them remember their possessions.
Apart from the issue of forgetting things at hotels, Esther has shared the solutions for other problems as well. This includes the problem of some people not having brought the right adapter to charge their phones with at the hotels. This can be a nightmare for anyone as mobile phones are an integral part of one’s life in today’s scenario. Esther has a solution to this problem. “Use your USB cable and charge it in the TV,” she shared with her followers in a video detailing six hotel hacks she uses while travelling.
These days, most modern televisions have built-in USB adapters, which will charge a phone, so there’s no need to go to the lobby or store to pay for an expensive charging block.
Some other helpful tips she shared in the video were using a clothes hanger to seal any gaps in the hotel room curtains to get the room completely dark. The 22-year-old flight attendant also advised wrapping the hotel room TV remote in a shower cap to avoid germs. Esther also shared using the caps to cover shoes when packed away in the luggage.
At the end of the video, Esther recommended using any card other than the hotel key card to access the room. She also advised the followers to power on the lights and use air conditioning if the hotel has that accommodation.
Many of her video’s viewers, however, shared that the card trick only really works now at “old European hotels”. The flight attendant’s video, which has racked up more than 1 million views, has received praise from followers over the simple hacks most forget while travelling. “The hanger for the drapes is GENIUS,” one TikTok user wrote. Another lauded the step she advised to cover the cable TV remote.
