Hence, it becomes essential for the candidates to prepare themselves well to stand out. Recently, LinkedIn career expert Andrew McCaskill revealed the importance of effective communication during job interviews. He has highlighted that the candidate’s answers should leave a long-lasting impact on the recruiter.

In a conversation with CNBC Make It, McCaskill shared the smartest closing lines that job seekers’ can say to leave a positive impact on their job recruiters. He shared, “I want to underscore how much I want this job. I think my skills and experiences are perfect for it, and I could have a strong, positive impact on the team. Here’s why…” He added that even though these lines may seem too forward, they are enough to hit two important points in the mind of the interviewer: enthusiasm and confidence.

In his interview, the importance of enthusiasm and confidence was also explained. McCaskill revealed that if the candidate seems too apathetic or neutral about the job, it may not leave a lasting impression. To show that they are the best fit for the job, they must show up-front enthusiasm.

He also revealed that clearly articulating the strengths and values of the candidate that they can bring to the table. He has recommended that during job interviews, people should keep their explanations brief and focus on two or three skills that are outlined in the job description.

McCaskill talked about the importance of rehearsing the interview with a friend or a mentor and how it can help the candidate gain a lot of confidence. He said, “Interviews are a performance art, and to perform well, you have to rehearse. The best interviewers are the people who have rehearsed their talking points with a mentor, a friend, or even an old co-worker because that helps you feel confident and comfortable talking about yourself.”
