Video Of Man Petting And Kissing Whale Elicits Mixed Reaction On Internet

Humans may be the undisputed dominant species on the planet but we are still humbled by the size and majestic nature of many other animals. When we come face to face with such creatures that outweigh us in terms of size or beauty, we can either be scared and flee for our lives or take a moment to appreciate them. We will show you a video where a man encounters a large whale but instead of being petrified, he strokes it gently and playfully.

The video was posted earlier this month on a handle named Freewonk with a Dutch caption that translates to “Watch where and when you put your hands in the water…You never know what can happen… (Would you do this? And why/why not?)”. In the beginning of the video, a man is seen on a boat, stroking the water just for fun, However, after a few seconds, bubbles start appearing in the water. The man is puzzled for a few seconds but is then surprised when a giant whale is seen poking its head out of the water.

The man does not seem scared and instead starts stroking the whale gently, and then even bends down and plants a kiss on its head. In a hilarious move, the whale seems pretty indifferent to this affection showered on it and promptly swims away. Take a look at the video.

The video has received more than 8 lakh views while many people have given their feedback by commenting. One said that he would also think of trying something like this sometime. Another praised the man’s courage. However, some were critical of the man’s actions deeming it illegal to touch a whale. “Unpopular opinion: should we be touching them? I 100% would want to but I thought conservation teaches us to observe, not interact?” read a comment.
