A new recipe piques the curiosity of foodies on social media almost every week and becomes viral. Content creators join the trend and share their experiences attempting these widely popular recipes on social media. They occasionally add their unique spin to the delights. One of the latest sensations is the rice paper croissant, which has recently taken social media by storm. Many food vloggers and digital creators have shared their recipes and attempts to recreate this innovative treat.

In one Instagram Reels video, a female chef demonstrates how to make rice paper croissants at home. She begins by cracking five eggs into a large bowl, following an internet recipe. Next, she adds melted butter, sugar, baking powder, and milk. After thoroughly whisking the ingredients, she pours the batter into a flat baking tray. She then dips each of the five rice papers into the mixture, coating them well. The rice papers are cut in half and stacked on top of each other, then arranged and rolled into the shape of unbaked croissants. Following this, she bakes two portions for 30 minutes and reveals the final result.

The woman is astounded to discover that they resemble cooked, flaky croissants. She does a taste test and finds it tastes like mochi, a Japanese rice cake. “Rice paper is so versatile omg!!!! Would you give this rice paper croissant a try?” reads the caption.
