KOCHI: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Poochatty emerged champions at the 29th Dr K M Munshi Memorial Inter-School Athletic Meet held at Bhavan's Vidya Mandir Eroor. A total of 37 schools took part in the two-day meet which concluded on Saturday. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Poochatty won 141 points to win the ever-rolling trophy. Bhavan's Vidya Mandir Eroor became the first runners up with 136 points followed by St Peters Sr Sec School Kadayiruppu school with 130.5 points. Two new meet records were set. In high jump, Arun Jose of St Peter's School Kadayiruppu found a new height while Ijas Ismail Rasheed of Bhavan's Vidya Mandir Elamakara set a new record in 200 m race. The individual champions in various categories are - Pavithra B of BVM Eroor (Kiddies Girls), Ashik Augustine of BVM Girinagar (Kiddies Boys), Bhagyalakshmi A of Kulapathi Munshi BVM Pottore (Sub Junction Girls), Roshan V Gigi and Ajay Vijayan Nair of BVB Poochatty (Sub Junior Boys), Sreelakshmi Sankar of Kulapathi Munshi BVM Pottore (Junior Girls), Ajay Diji of BVM Elamakkara (Junior Boys), Darsana Ayyappan of Bhavan's Rajaji Vidyashram Chennai and Raichel K Iype of BVB Poochatty (Senior Girls) and Alen S Paul of St Peter's Senior Secondary School Kadayiruppu (Senior Boys).The chief guest at the valedictory function Ramachandra Menon, secretary Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Kochi Kendra distributed the prizes. E Ramankutty, Director and principals of schools also attended the function.
