Woman dies in clash

SRIKAKULAM: In a clash between two groups of villagers over possession of a piece of land at Suryanarayana Puram village of Laveru mandal in the district, an old women died and seven others sustained sustained injuries last night.According to police, families of N Surappadu and N Rama Murthy have been claiming their right over 59 cents of land in the village under Tamada panchayat for past couple of years. Recently, village elders with support of revenue land surveyor called both families and tried to settle the matter. But their efforts failed to yield any result as both the families stuck to their stand.
